Past Wednesday,
April 9th, one of our interns in the Rehabilitation Centre,
Oscar Hugo Castillo MartÌnez, 30 years old, came
to the end of our program. Oscar first came in a very
deteriorated physical state because of alcohol, but along
the 8 months of program in the Rehabilitation Centre,
he had a fast
recovery,
both physical and spiritual.
The moment the got his diploma
he stated: “Honestly, when I came in at first
in my third day, I wanted to run away from the Rehabilitation
Centre, then I met God and I convinced myself I needed
a different life style. I thank God for my parents who
were very patient with me, and for this place; Christ,
he sets free, and sets free for ever”.
186 people witnessed these words from Oscar, and the others
interns prayed for him, being this very emotive for all
of them, after the talk from Jose
Amezcua, people enjoyed delicious food along with the
voluntaries of CVC
Mexico.
At the CVC’s Rehabilitation
Centre, things are doing FINE, considering what we have
grown, specially in the ex
ternal
group: approximately 120 people attends to Wednesday’s
meetings, and to Friday’s meetings about 85 people
attends; what worries us the most is our inability to
receive more people, victims of drugs and in the need
of rehabs.
As for the internal group:
to this moment we have a waiting list of 14 people, that
is why it is essential for us to grow in resources: a)
human resources, little by little we are improving in
training more and better the area collaborators, and b)
economic resources, the ones we need the most to carry
on with the program as it is, and to expand the place
to fulfill the growing number of applications to enter
our program, submitted by the people who need rehab and
can see the success, quality and warmth of our services.
